When a Paladin gets Dominate Mind, they will likely stun someone in melee range immediately. If the Paladin was Holy and the closest person was a healer, you're down two healers. So spread healers evenly across the room.
Proper timing of the killing blow on the Mana Barrier is essential; it must be when the current wave of adds is very nearly dead or totally dead, and the next wave of adds will not spawn soon.
After her Mana Barrier is burst, tanks must pull the boss to the top of the stairs or into the middle of the room to avoid line-of-sight problems.
Vengeful Shades explode for 20k before resistances, and they don't care if the boss has just launched her 10k Frostbolt Volley. Tanks and plate DPS may survive the damage spike; most others won't. If you are at range, spread out so that you can clearly see and thus avoid Vengeful Shades. They can hide among flashy spell effects.
If you can remove a curse without undue onus on your primary raid role, do it. It is not the sole province of Restoration Druids / Restoration Shaman.
If one of your tanks dies after you've burst the Mana Barrier, a Hunter kiting the boss may do in a pinch when it's time for a tank switch. But it's tricky at best, and relies on whatever DPS you have still alive to manage threat carefully. If you must rely on this tactic, then you're either very bold or you did something else wrong (like not interrupting a Frostbolt).
Tank transitions happen at 3 stacks of Touch of Insignificance.
