Normal

  • Health: ??
  • Special Abilities: (Empowered) Shock Vortex, Conjure (Empowered) Flame, (Empowered) Shadow Lance, Kinetic Bomb, Invocation of Blood
  • Composition: 10-player: 2-3 tanks, 2-3 healers, rest DPS. 25-player: 3 tanks, 5-6 healers, rest DPS.
  • Positioning: Valanar against the east wall near the red banner. Taldaram at the top of the stairs, on the center line of the room. Keleseth and his tank will move around the room somewhat; anywhere not near Valanar is fine. Adjust positioning as necessary to avoid Shock Vortex spawns.
  • Alternate positioning: Valanar against the south wall.

Keleseth's tank initiates the fight, other tanks must pick up the other princes quickly.

Assign one or two ranged DPS to manage the Kinetic Bomb ("beach balls") primarily, and damage the vulnerable prince otherwise. Warlock Imps may be sufficient in 10-player, but not in 25-player.

Melee can stay away from Valanar the entire fight. The knockback from his Empowered Shock Vortex may not be worth the trouble. Only Valanar's tank should be within 30 yards of him; everyone else stays away whenever possible.

Though any high-health ranged DPS class could potentially tank Keleseth, the higher health pool and survival cooldowns of a tank class grant a much larger margin for error when it is time to face an Empowered Shadow Lance. A Death Knight can be very good in this role.

While Taldaram is vulnerable, all ranged and healers stand in a rough line between him and the south door; the player targeted by the Empowered Flame must kite the sphere away. Others not may wish to run towards Taldaram briefly to take a few ticks of damage and thus increase the targeted player's chances of surviving the explosion.

This is not a gear check. Raid DPS need not be extreme to beat the enrage timer. When this fight is done properly, the princes' most dangerous abilities can be turned into moderate nuisance damage that is easily healed back. Though there is a lot of chaos, deaths on this fight are rarely RNG hate and most often errors in execution (movement, positioning, timing).
